Annual Membership Meeting
The Board of Directors of the New York State Children’s Alliance, Inc. (NYSCA) is hosting an Annual Membership Meeting on Wednesday, October 23rd in Albany, NY.
CAC Directors and MDT Members are encouraged to attend. To RSVP, please complete the Annual Meeting Registration 2013 form and send it by email to email@example.com
The Annual Membership Meeting provides a forum to discuss issues impacting Child Advocacy Centers, network with colleagues from across New York State and participate in relevant training sessions on hot button issues.
This year we are pleased to announce that a joint presentation on Child Commercial Sexual Exploitation and Child Sex Trafficking will be conducted by representatives of The Department of Homeland Security (Todd E. Bunnenberg, Victim Assistance Specialist, ICE, Homeland Security Investigation), Safe Horizon (Avaloy H. Lanning, Senior Director of the Anti-Trafficking Program) and The Office of Children and Family Services (Lynn Baniak, Strategic Planning Policy Development; Lisa Ghartey-Ogundimu, Assistant Commissioner of Special Populations; Sonia Meyer, Office of Legal Affairs; Madeline Hannan: International Organization for Adolescents (IOFA); Thomas Hess, Child and Family Safety Program). The epidemic of Commercial Child Sexual Exploitation has recently garnered national attention and Child Advocacy Centers are being tapped to take a significant role in responding to these difficult cases.
For the past year, committees have been hard at work developing training tools for distribution throughout the state. We are proud to announce that the roll-out of the Less is More and First Responder Curriculums will also take place at the Annual Membership Meeting.
This event will be held at the New York State Police Academy, 1220 Washington Avenue in Albany, from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. There will be time scheduled for a working lunch (on your own). The academy cafeteria will be available for on-site dining.
If you plan on travelling to Albany the night before the meeting, a block of rooms is available at the federal government per diem rate of $104/night at the Hilton Garden Inn/SUNY Area, 1389 Washington Avenue, Albany.
