Free Virtual Training hosted by the CAC of Niagara.
When Caregivers Don’t Believe: Impact, Intervention and Support for Families Experiencing Abuse
After a child discloses abuse, the support of their non-offending caregiver is vital to their recovery; however, not all caregivers will initially show support for their child. This training will explore the topic of unsupportive caregivers of abused children as well as methods of supporting and intervening with them. Information on child abuse disclosure, dynamics in families after abuse is disclosed, and the importance of caregiver support will be provided.
